Who Am I?I am Jonathan Bowen and I teach Social Studies at Northridge High School in Middlebury, Indiana.
I have been teaching psychology and sociology for four years and special education for five years all at Northridge High School. For the past three years I worked as a half-time special education and half-time social studies teacher. I serve on Northridge’s technology committee, principal evaluation committee and Olweus anti-bully committee. I received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and special education in 2009 at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, IN. I am married and have a beautiful four-month-old daughter. I coach men's soccer at Northridge as an assistant and play whenever I can. I love to travel and enjoy camping, fishing, hiking and kayaking (anything outdoors really). I was selected to be part of the 2015 TGC fellowship. I completed the eight week course and spent two weeks in Morocco. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. My objective for this program was to grow as a professional and bring what I learn from the class and international travel to my classroom. I am now in the process of re-vamping my classroom and implementing what I have learned from the program. |
