How to Use this Website
This website is meant to help its readers understand what global education is, what it looks like and offers resources and ideas for bringing global education into the classroom. It also offers resources for teacher and student exchange and travel programs. This website is the culminating project of an 8 week course and two week international travel experience as part of the Teacher for Global Classrooms Program. The project can be broken down into four main components. The first component is the Homepage which includes this guide, information about myself, description of global education, and information about the Teachers for Global Classrooms (TGC) program. The second component, the Study component, includes the Digital Learning Survey (lists and describes what digital tools are available to us at Northridge High School), Global Education Assessment Tools (list of resources to help evaluate if your students are achieving the skills of a global citizen) and Additional Resources (other stuff nifty resources that would not fit another category). The third category encompasses the Teaching part of the project. It includes items like the International Project-based Learning Opportunities (list of resources that offer lesson plans, projects, and information about international projects), Community Resources (list of local resources in our area that can be utilized for a more globalized education), Standard Based Global Education Updates (gives examples of how to globalized lessons and match state standards) and a 10 day Unit Plan that I created for the TGC class and will use this fall. The final and most fun (certainly for me) category is the Travel category. Here you can find my Travel Blog, Pictures of my time in Morocco and the Research Question I chose to investigate while I was there. I hope you enjoy. If you have a question, comment, or would like for me to include some resource you use or if you think of something I missed, please comment on the appropriate page or email me at [email protected]. Thanks for reading and enjoy.
